Florida native attorney Dana A. Satchell was born and raised in Miami, Florida to a Jamaican household. She holds a unique position as being the eldest child born into both sides of her family. In her formative years, she attended Perrine Baptist Academy which molded her deeply rooted Christian morals. When she was younger, she actively played tennis at a sports academy until she suffered a severe sprain in 2007.
Dana graduated from Florida International University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. From there, she contributed to the wellbeing of her community through her work at the Guardianship Program of Dade-County. She was responsible for daily management and rehabilitation of over 50 wards of the State. She advocated for the rights of these individuals, some of which were successfully restored and transitioned back into semi-independent living situations.
In December 2019, Dana graduated Cum Laude – fourth in her graduating class, from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, College of Law with her Juris Doctor. Throughout the duration of Law School, she worked as a Criminal Defense Paralegal. She gained a great deal of skill and work ethic while engaged in this role. She singlehandedly spearheaded the seal and expunge department of that firm and gained insightful knowledge in criminal procedure.
Dana enjoys helping those who feel as though they cannot help themselves. Her motivation to do this is simply knowing that she can make a difference to one person and touch the lives of those who surround her.
In her spare time, Dana enjoys vacationing with Bentley (her cat), shopping, enjoying exquisite cuisines, and surrounding herself with people that she loves. Dana likes to live each day in the present, knowing that “…[God] has plans to prosper … [and] gives hope and a future”.
