Christopher Carey graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and after receiving a scholarship to study law at the Fredric G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, received his Juris Doctor degree.
During his undergraduate years, Mr. Carey served as an intern in the Orlando Office of United States Senator Marco Rubio, where he conducted policy research, attended hearings, assisted with writing legislative reports, responded to constituent inquires and assisted with navigating federal agencies.
While attending law school he worked with Cohen Law Group as a legal intern, then finished his final semester as a legal intern with the 9thJudicial Circuit Court, Office of the Public Defender for Orange and Osceola Counties, where upon graduating and passing the Florida Bar was hired as an Assistant Public Defender. During his time with the Public Defender’s office, Mr. Carey represented more than 1,000 indigent clients, providing client consultation and legal representation; conducted legal research, interviewed witnesses, and tried multiple cases as first counsel.
Chris enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, playing sports, coaching youth football, and cheering on his favorite teams – Pittsburgh Steelers and Florida Gators.
