Tamara Greer

Tamara is a Florida native who grew up in the Orlando area. She earned her J.D. and her Master of Law degree (LL.M) in Trial Advocacy from Stetson University College of Law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from St. Petersburg College. Prior to law school and during law school, Tamara worked as a legal assistant at various law firms in different practice areas learning the ropes from the ground up and discovering which practice areas, she was most interested in.

 

During law school, Tamara was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team wherein she traveled and competed in negotiation competitions against other law schools. She served as a member of the Student Bar Association for the entire duration of her law school career, and she was awarded a Pro Bono Service Award by the Sixth Judicial Circuit. She externed at the Judge Advocate General’s Office (JAG) at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida and also at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, as well as serving as an extern for the Sixth Circuit Office of the State Attorney, Pinellas County.
After law school, Tamara moved to South Carolina where she honed her trial and courtroom skills at the Twelfth Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Florence, South Carolina as an Assistant Public Defender representing indigent clients. After the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2021, Tamara moved back to her native Florida and continued her advocacy in the Office of the Public Defender for Orange County. Tamara then transitioned into private practice as a defense attorney representing insurance carriers in first party property cases prior to joining Cohen Law Group. She now specializes in representing homeowners and insureds in their claims and disputes against insurance carriers. Tamara has zealously advocated for hundreds of clients in both State and Federal courts. She is passionate about pursuing justice on behalf of her clients.
Outside of work, Tamara enjoys spending her free time with family, friends, and her two dogs; attending her kids’ sporting events; cheering on the Florida Gators; and visiting Florida’s various state parks and theme parks to make the most of life in her home state.
