Brandon M. Pharis is a native Floridian, born and raised in Sanford, Florida. He was the pitcher for the Seminole High School baseball team, and liked to spend his free time hunting and fishing. After high school Brandon graduated from the Police Academy and was employed by the City of Apopka as a Patrol Officer, after which he went on to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office as a Detective in the Financial Crimes Unit, performing thousands of local, state and federal investigations. During his time at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon was cross-designated with the Department of Homeland Security Customs Enforcement Unit.
While serving the local communities as a first responder, Brandon attended college at the University of Phoenix full time, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2015. He then accepted a scholarship for law school at the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law located in Orlando, Florida. During his time at Barry, Brandon was a member of the Law Review and a Dean’s Fellow, mentoring first-year law students in focused study groups on contracts. Brandon would also volunteer his time with a tax assistance program for the community through Barry University and with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2018, one of the top three in the class, and was admitted to the Florida Bar the following year. Brandon has begun his practice of law here at the Cohen Law Group, in First Party Property Damage, in all sixty-seven counties in the State of Florida. He proudly resides, with his wife and young son, in the same community he serves. Brandon marries his unique experience in law enforcement and investigations with his knowledge of the law for his clients. He also sports an efficacious beard of awesome and a chin of win.
