Brittany Birs

Brittany Birs is a respected member of the legal community and has earned a reputation as a well-prepared, result-driven, and hardworking advocate for her clients. Brittany has a fraternal twin sister and was born and raised in the Sunshine State. From an early age, Brittany knew she wanted to be an attorney. Originally from South Florida, Brittany moved to Gainesville, Florida to attend the University of Florida for her bachelor’s degree, where she graduated cum laude and earned straight A’s.

For law school, Brittany was accepted into the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. While in law school, Brittany was selected to serve as a teaching assistant for Research and Writing. Brittany also excelled in both the Mediation Clinic and the Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Clinic. Brittany was the recipient of two prestigious Book Awards in both Trademark and Patent Law, after earning the top grade in each class.

Upon graduating from law school, Brittany accepted a position at the Office of the Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orlando. Brittany earned a reputation as a trailblazer and zealous advocate. Brittany excelled at managing a high caseload and has excellent negotiation skills. Brittany garnered vast experience, having worked on a multiplicity of different cases including, DUI’s and simple possessions, to punishable by life, and other serious felony offenses. Brittany has extensive litigation experience, including trying cases in front of a jury, arguing complex legal issues at evidentiary hearings, and conducting depositions. Brittany was successful in having a Writ of Prohibition granted on Double Jeopardy grounds.

Brittany has joined the Cohen Law Group and is excited to handle first-party property insurance claims. Brittany is eager to advocate on behalf of homeowners and contractors.

When Brittany is not in court or negotiating, you can find her on her Peloton, spending time with her family and her Goldendoodle. Brittany loves to create, and in her spare time enjoys painting, writing, and making candles. Brittany has written a children’s book.
