Two teenagers killed in auto accident north of Tallahassee
GRADY COUNTY, FL (June 15, 2019) — A single-vehicle incident happened just north of Tallahassee, killing two people according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP states that the accident occurred prior to 7 a.m. north of Horseshoe Plantation Road. The scene was still active when a tow truck got to the scene late Saturday morning, according to Eyewitness News reporter Sophia Hernandez.
Both the vehicle driver and the passenger were pronounced deceased on the scene by Leon County Emergency Medical Services. The driver has been identified as 18-year-old Sean Landers of Thomasville. The passenger’s identity hasn’t been released to the public, but FHP states he is a 16-year-old male from Thomasville.
FHP says the automobile was traveling north on Thomasville Road in the outside lane, just north of Horseshoe Plantation Road, and veered off the road into the median. At that point, FHP claims the automobile’s right side struck a tree, chopping the vehicle in half. The roads where the accident occurred are back open, but FHP is still investigating the scene.
